16 X 12 door opener

Finally looking in my pole building, never seen an opener like this. I notice there are no 'eyes' near the door and wonder if this has any safety devices like caving in the roof of my car if I should hit a button.

I also see a box on the wall, OPEN - CLOSE - STOP but no wires going to it. I did open it once and no stopping it till it's open.

Sorry, I'll have better pictures once I get my extension ladder here.

Any comments welcome, thanks.

Judging by the fuzzy picture that shows the red sticker, it looks like it might be an older Overhead Door Company opener. Knowing the model would help. But those are more commercial in nature. Like the one I have at my shop. I dont think commercial openers are required to have any of that safety stuff.

I think so, opener in the garage is a Legacy.

I sprayed the rollers I could reach with JD-80 then up and down a couple times. I'm sure this door has very little use with her health failing. She actually drove her RV twice to California to see her sister.

Hope this works...

That's a commercial opener installed before photo eyes, it can have a reversing edge hooked which would be a pneumatic tube ran through the bottom rubber weather seal plumbed into a switch which would be wired into a a coil wire which stretches as the door moves up and down. They can have a photo eyes installed, we use this some similar to these

Okay, not as simple as I'd hoped. I can live without the photo eyes if I can stop the door when I want. Here are the buttons on the wall, curious why it wasn't hooked up.

If the wall buttons will work I'll throw the remotes away so I have to be standing there when the door operates. This will only be used for storage so no biggie.

I'll retrieve my extension ladder today for some better pictures.

Thanks

Model MDD Overhead Door

I see unused 'open' and 'close' terminals so my buttons may work?
I'll search for more after supper.

Thanks guys.

Finally caught up with BIL, piece of cake. Buy some 5 strand thermostat wire and my wall buttons will work fine.

Thanks

Hooked it up yesterday, works great! Happy camper here.

Only thing was I went to our local lumber yard for the 18/5 thermostat wire, they only had 18/2 and 18/3. Okay, give me 80' of 18/2 and I'll make it work. Grrr - $33.50.
