What functon does bottom cross bar have?

My garage door has a cross bar at the bottom of the door.
What function does it have? Structural?

Its a stiffener that keeps the door straight and prevents it from bowing when the door is sitting in that position (fully open). Typically there is one across the top of the door (when fully closed) above where the opener bracket attaches. Some doors might require them on every panel.

In your case , it also appears to be a mounting surface for the bottom rollers.

I think that stiffener is on top of the bottom roller bracket.
