Shop/Garage windows

I have a couple of odd sized windows in my shop that are rotting and falling apart. The shop is heated to 35 in the winter unless I'm in there, and cooled only when I'm in there working. I'm looking to replace these bad windows with some bare bone no frills windows. The only caveat is they need to have a brown or tan exterior. A quick check at the home store puts one window at $1200 and I'm not doing that. I found one online site that quoted $625 which is doable. Is there another place I can look? Where can I find some inexpensive windows for my shop.

If it matters the RO is 39w x 32h

We have a couple of home improvement outlet stores here. They get out dated or discontinued stuff & reject items. Sometimes they buy like a case of items where only one is broken etc. You know what I mean. Might consider one of those if you have anything like that near you. You might get lucky.

Since you specified the exterior color does that mean you want a vinyl window? Something that you won't be painting to the desired color.

I shop the mis-orders at my local lumber yards and big box stores. The difficult part is you have pretty tight specifications, the worst being the exterior color. I think more options will be available if you can deal with white.

Habitat for Humanity operates the ReStore. It is hit or miss but often you can find some great items, windows among them. Also check salvage stores. Not sure what's in your area but it's worth checking out.

Vinyl or wood is fine. I can paint it. It seems that vinyl mostly comes in white.

If the windows don't need to be openable they are pretty easy to make. Just a pane of glass with some molding around the perimeter inside and out to hold the glass in place... old school.

Well, I stopped by the home store today and saw I can get vinyl windows in a color other than white for WAY cheaper than a wood window. Price for a vinyl window the same size is $325. At that price I might as well buy two.
