Question Garage wall stud spacing

We live in Upstate NY and are building a 28 x 28 garage. Can we have studs at 2' o/c instead of 16"? Also, I am looking to purchase inexpensive plans online if anyone has any suggestions. The sites I have found for this so far do not have 28x28 with a gable entry. Thanks for any input.

You can use 24" oc, but I always use 16" oc. One of the few that do. The price difference is less then $150.00. And it is so much stronger. You probably will not find any plans for 28x28 since this is considered an odd size. but you can take like a 24x24 and just make the walls longer. The plans will be the same. You can probably buy the plans cheaper at Hope Depot or Lowes, Menards, etc. Good Luck
