Garage Door Opener

I just moved into a new home, and it is pre-wired for a garage door opener. After hanging my Craftsman garage door opener, I found out that the wiring that was pre-installed doesn't match. The Craftsman calls for single wires, while what was pre-wired has about 10 individual wires inside the outer covering. Any ideas on how I should proceed? Thanks in advance!

which wiring are we talking about? path sensor wires, push botton switch? Since the opener comes with new wire I would remove the old stuff and put up the new stuff, unless the old stuff is inside wall. then its your call if you want to run new wires and tack to outside of wall/ceiling.
