Question garage walls

We are selling our home possible FHA/MSHDA and have been advised that we need to install fire walls in our detached garage. Does anyone know if this is true and if so, what it entails? Our garage is a shared garage with our neighbor, with a dividing wall between the stalls.

Yes, this is code almost everywhere in the country. You will have to put up type X sheetrock (some call it blackboard 90 minute fire rating) on the common wall. From the floor clear up to the peak.
Good Luck
