building a garage
We are building a 45 foot long by 11 foot 8 inch attached garage.
We would like to know the minimum roof rise over run (pitch) for construction.
We have an existing window on the house which creates a problem in the height restrictions to start our roof at. This is why our question relates to the minimum slope required for our area and climate. We live in Southern Saskatchewan.

Your minimum is probably a 3/12 pitch, however I would recommand nothing less then a 4/12 or 5/12 pitch or greater. A 3/12 roof will not have the snow load bearing that the greater pitches have. Hate to have your roof fall in in the winter.
