Can any Phormium cope in Tropics?
I live in North Queensland Australia. I love Phormium species but am only just learning about them. I know that the distribution of Phormium tenax is limited to southern Queensland and below but absolutely love the pink and green varieities: especially Phormium "jester".
Does anybody know if any species of Phormium could be grown at my climate?
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

thanks marturo
Thankyou very much for the help. I had seen the info earlier but forgotten about it. It was a great general guide but Im still hoping to find out info regarding specific temperature ranges that Phormium prefer and which would be the "hardiest" variety in terms of being a plant of temperate origin but able to perform in a tropical climate. Any ideas?

A rare find, I believe.
Hi, lisabeauchamp
The link below is a very good listing of the many Phormiums that I have ever seen. This Business is wholesale only, but they have chosen to share the names of many plants & their culture.
Make sure & keep their link as there are few like it. I hope you will find the answers you seek here. Please keep us informed on what you decide & how it turns out.
Best of luck to you.
PS: you will have to copy & paste I believe we lost our ability to just click the links.
