tomatoes

Folks;
I,m a city boy whose trying to grow tomatoes. My plants grew
great but look like a jungle. There are alot of small green
tomatoes. This is after about six weeks. I've been told I have
to thin the plants out to let sun in. I only get about five hours
a day. My problem is I don't know what to cut out or leave alone.
Is there any rule of thumb? I'm really enjoying this but feel
pretty stubid. Is there any good books someone could recomend
thats good for beginners? Thanks for your imput.

RON

Books on growing gardens

Hi RON

I have seen some very good books @ www.amazon.com from beginers to Masters they have a good selection + great prices.

Before you go chopping off branches, just remember we grow at least 12 to 15 varities of Tomatos here on the Farm, & don't prune them. Everyone has a way to grow tomatos, & so will you after a while.

Just don't sweat the little things yet, Tomatos grow in pots, hanging baskets, in ground & I even know one farmer who does Bonsi just for kicks on some types of Tomatos.

Have fun & enjoy that first vine ripe tomato, you grew yourself.
