Question Fast Growing Summer Shade Tree

I am in search for advice on a fast growing tree that can be used to shade the south side of my 2 story house. I have finally finished the remodel of the interior and am now moving onto the landscaping. There is nothing shading this south side of the house and the dining room and upstairs bedroom gets extremely warm from the sun. 15 degrees warmer than the rest of the house with the central A/C on.

I am looking for a fast grower that would provide first floor shade next year and 2nd story shade the following year.

Thanks for all your opinions and advise.

Your local county agent can help with info on what grows rapidly in your area. A check with a landscape architect may help, too.

Around here, red maple, sweet gum, crytomeria, leyland cypress are among the fast growers. If you want a certain height tree by next year, you may need to buy a larger tree to be sure that it will be large enough by then. Fall is a good time to plant trees, winter is good, too.

Hope this helps.
