Cure for black spots on Photinia?

I have a mature (10 + years old) photinia in my front yard that has black spots on it. What can I do to get rid of the problem?

disease

if you have a redtip, it is most likely going to die. they are prone to a root disease that is practically impossible to control. this disease can be spread by useing hedge clippers from plant to plant. if you must trim, clean the clippers with a bleach and water solution before moving to other plants. the chinese photinias dont seem to be bothered by this fungus.
if you want to try to save it, try dirtdoctor.com for organic fungi treatments. look for the 'sick tree treatment'.
