In my area most of the "Grounds Keepers" are now employing Mexicans for there ability to make beautiful landscaping schemes. One of the things they do is to ring a tree by putting in a small "Moat/Trench" around a tree, then heavily mulching the tree. This makes it easier to mow around the tree without having to use a "String Trimmer" and blasting mulch everywhere. Will an attachment edger for my Roybi trimmer dig a sufficient trench are should I use a shovel of some kind (whitch kind of shovel)? Alll answers and guidance will be appreciated very much. I am hoping someone can help. I have an 8 ft by 8 ft circular flower bed in the front of my house where I would like to plant several different varieties of perennial flowers. Due to some large trees in our front yard, the area gets quite a lot of shade, however, there is some afternoon sun. We are in zone 7. Our home is a red brick colonial. Does anyone have suggestions for several different low maintenance perennial flowers that would work well together under these conditions? Also, could someone recommend a good website to look up the flowers. Thanks in advance for your assistance. jshaw
