Pruning

Folks;
Is it better to prune your trees and bushes in the spring or
in the fall? All my evergreens need prunning.

Pruning, in general, is best done in the dead of winter. Plant activity is lowest then. Evergreens bleed less, bugs are not attracted to open wounds before they heal, the pruning will not stimulate immediate new growth, diseases and pestilence is less likely to set in. Recall that terminal bud plants will be stunted by pruning.
