Bradford Pear w/black tips

I have a smalll Bradford Pear tree that the tip of the leaves are turning black. Part of the tree did it last yr., but I don't remember it doing it until later in the summer. The leaves are all pretty yellow. Does it have a disease or does it have missing nutrients?

Black tips on Bradford Pears.

Hello dandb.

I'll include this link for you to read. http://www.agcom.purdue.edu/AgCom/Pubs/BP/BP-30.html

My best advice is to cut off some affected parts & get them to the County Agent ASAP.

Let's hope this is not Fire Blight, the FB has become imune to the antibiotic's used in our county.

Thumbs down

Bradford Pear- more problems than it's worth. Cut it down and paint the cut with a herbacide to prevent regrowth. Then- plant a nice specimen tree suited to your needs and climate.
