Good fertilizer and care for thuja?

I recently bought some thuja giant greens which Im hoping will grow into a nice privacy fence. Planted them roughly 6 feet apart. The are currently 10"-12" high. I live in Ohio(zone 5) and am wondering what would be good fertilizer and care for these to try and get them to their optimal growth?

As close as they are planted, they will turn into a wall of tree. Some recommendations are a slow-release balanced fertilizer such as: Osmocote, or other balanced fertilizer and 1/2 the rate twice as often to avoid burning the new trees. Half the dose of Miracle Gro then the rest 2 weeks later at planting. Keep them watered during dry spells. Soaker hoses work well for this.

Hope this helps.
