I have 2 plum trees about 4 to 5 years old
I did'nt prune them in the winter
can I thin them out alittle now or not
Also should the leaves be turning red looking and falling off
someone said that where a leave turn red and fell off there would be a plum
one of the trees has 2 small plums

Smile Just a quick question

Hi Blackie Welcome to DIYs Garden Forum

Blackie did you spray a Dormant oil spray late Winter? How about a Lime Sulphur spray just before the leaves or flowers opened?

The whole gamet.

Well Blackie

With the Dormant oil fruit tree spray & the Lime and sulphur spray not used we have to include anything & everything as a possable cause.

Our best bet now is for you to do some searches on www.google.com

Use search words like Plum tree diseases, plum tree leaf problems, pictures of disease on plums, Spring plum tree diseases, .

When you find what it looks most like post back to this same thread & we can go from there. No the plum does not lose a leave to have a flower produce fruit at that spot.

Good luck on your searchs bring us back some page addresses so we can see also.
