using grass clippings for mulch?

Exclamation using grass clippings for mulch?

anyone ever use grass clippings for mulch for their garden? can u? just want to hold in some mosture around pepper plants...

i have seen it done, but in my opinion it would be better to compost it first. at the very least use dried out grass, not fresh cut.

When I used to use grass clippings, I would sheet compost them on top of the old layer of mulch in the flower bed. Fresh grass clippings in the garden would pull the available nitrogen from everywhere, especially the tender vegetables. I recommend composting or drying first.
