English Bowood Pruning and Decline

I have 8 English Boixwoods that are too large and oddly shaped due to neglect. Can I prune them back now (July in Maryland)?

Also, one of them appears to have the decline illness. Will this sickness invade the others? Should I pull out the declining boxwood to save the rest?

if they are mature plants i would think you could prun them and be ok. its not recommended, but i see people do it this time of year in texas and they survive. as far as the decline goes, it could be anything but if it is fungal you can spread it with your clippers. dont trim the other shrubs without cleaning the clippers with bleach and water first. better safe than sorry.
