Pruning Yew shrubs

A few of the shrubs around my foundation are getting "woody". They are 20 years old and about 5' tall. They are healty, but probably just overgown. If I did a drastic prune, cutting them down to 3 or so feet, with they fill back in?

Yes...the Yew is one of the few evergreens that will show new growth on old wood.
