I am a new home owner and planing to grow few vegitables in my backyard. I am in tampa florida.Only knowledge I have for planting is put seeds in soil and water them.
Is there anything else i need to know?
What is the best time in florida to plant seeds?
is it good to buy plant or seeds?
special kind of soil.
how much sun will they need?

I am planning for tomatoes, papers etc.

When I lived in Ocala Fl I had tomatoes and peppers. The only problem I had was the tomatoes exploding. Too much direct heat I think. Second year I used a shading filter mesh that allowed morning and late afternoon sun but not the 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. sun that was directly on them. Worked for me. Watering is important too. Not too much and not too little. I grew seeds inside and transplanted them when advised on seed pack. Soil conditions are also on the package. Good luck and watch this post for the Experts opinions.
