Small Deck Garden

Hi! I'm a begginer, as in I have never made a vegi garden before... I'm moving into an apartment with a good sized deck and I wanted a build a box to put on a 3x6 table. I was wondering:

*How deep should the box be?
*What are the easiest to grow vegis for a begginer?
*What is the fastest growing vine that would grow up a fence? (like cukes or peas)

Thank you!!! Fell free to e-mail me!!

Six inches would be deep enough.

Easiest to grow? Likely beans, squash, and tomatoes. Most vegetables aren't all that much trouble to grow.

Bean vines, squash, honeysuckle can all cover a fence quickly.

Hope this helps.

There are many good references for container gardening. You can do some online research, stop by the library, or purchase some container gardening books. The Ortho books are great for beginner gardeners.
