Killing Comfrey root?

Comfrey root has overtaken my land!!! I am researching ways to kill it because I have no grass left! Who knows how and making sure it kills the root, not just the leaves? It is currently taking over 1/2 acre and spreading fast! I live in the Pacific Northwest. It also just happens to be taking over the spot we want to grass! We have used Roundup so far for spot treatment so it doesn't spread to our neighbors!!
HELP!!!!

I would spray it wholesale with RoundUp and kill all you want.

Mowing before plant goes to seed will prevent establishment of seedlings and help deplete roots. Comfrey is difficult to control. Brush killer works more effectively for control than regular herbicides.
