Hello. I have a hardy hibiscus in a pot outside that i would like to plant outside over winter. The leaves are now dead on the plant. Can i plant this outside and cover with mulch?Should i cut the stems to ground level when i plant? I live in pa.

Hi Russelln,

Your hardy hibiscus should die back to the ground by itself. Go ahead and plant it the same depth as it is in the pot. Be sure to tease the roots if it's rootbound. Consider adding some compost to the planting bed and mulch the roots. Here's some helpful info.
