Post storing garden hoses for the winter

Is it okay to leave my garden hose outside during winter? I used to keep the hose and reel inside the garage during winter, but because of space limitations, my wife wants me to leave it outside this winter.

Be sure to drain all the water from the hose so that expanding, freezing water does not rupture the hose.

Disconnect it from the spigot and remove the spray nozzle.

Leave them wound up tight, like on a reel, and you might see some memory in the hose next spring. I leave mine outside in the winter with no problem.

I always leave mine outside although we don't have harsh winters. Making sure the water is drained is worth repeating.
