Pruning roses

I have 2 rose bushes that have grown to over 6 feet in height. I want to cut them way back to be managable again. However, I don't want to cut them too far where thet will not flower this spring. Any suggestions.

Provided that you don't cut them to the ground, it is hard to hurt roses. Here is a step by step outliine of pruning roses. http://************/28p3zo

Hope this helps.
