Moving/transplanting a tree

Two weeks ago I planted a 5-6 ft Japanese Maple tree. Can I safely transplant it to a different spot in my yard without damaging the tree?

I doubt the tree has had time to take root. Just be sure of the size hole dug for it before and dig outside there to unearth it. Raise it out of the ground (the ball should still be intact) or roll it sideways out of the hole and onto a tarp. Then pull the tarp to the new hole and reverse the action you took to get it into the new spot. Water it in nicely and watch it grow.
