Weeds Mature and Drop Seeds B4 Weedkiller Works...

Most broadleaf weedkillers say "do not apply when temps exceed 80F". Well, that's when the weeds grow the most. I live in western Colorado and I'm thinking spurge and chickweed in my lawn, and I use Fertilome and sometimes Ortho products. In the summer, the daytime temps stay between 85 and 105 for 2-3 months, dipping below 70 only in early morning. I hope the instructions mean "temperature at time of application". Is this correct?

Also, weedkillers supposedly take 2 or more weeks to "see results". Well, Spurge and chickweed can sprout, mature, and drop seed in about 2 weeks. So when treated spurge starts to die 2 or so weeks after application, hasn't it already dropped mature seeds, or are the seeds mature only after the plant has run its normal course?

The seeds have to mature on the plant before they are ripe enough to sprout. You may have to treat again.

Also, the instructions mean that the temps should be below 80*F while the weed killer is working. That means if the temps get over 80*F a few hours later and stay there for a prolonged period, it's not a good thing.
