Black Walnut Tree-11 foot circumference-approximate age?

Hi,

I measured my black walnut tree a few weeks back, it was roughly 11 feet circumference around the trunk. I am very curious of the approximate age of the tree.

Thanks for your opinions

Jason

Black walnut is a pretty slow growth tree. I'm not into logging or milling, but a tree with an 11' circumference would be about 3.5' thick... pretty good sized. I'd guess it's age to be 100-150 years. 125-130 would be my best guess.

There a tree farm down the road from me and they planted black walnut trees about 22 year ago and they look like they are only a two foot around.
