forcing tulips after being in refrig for 6 months?

Hi everyone
In Sept I bought some tulips in Amsterdam. Upon my return, I immediately put them in the refrigerator. Is it possible for them to bloom this year? If so, what is the best way to go about this? I live in NYC and its still pretty cold here.
Many Thanks and Happy Gardening

Bulbs planted in ground or pots outdoors before soil freezes in fall, produce spring blooms. Those, who love to force tulips for a breath of spring during winter, pot chilled bulbs 12 to 16 weeks in advance of expected blooms.
