Can I delay planting of 50 canadian hemlock saplings
I have 50 canadian hemlock saplings coming in this Sat, May3,2008. The area that I am planning on planting is not exactly ready. I have been in contact with some excavators this last week and I am going to try my best to get some one in here before the end of this week, but if I cannot get anyone in I might not be ready to plant. Is there anyway to delay my planting? What is the best method to store the saplings (if any) to buy me some time to get my excavating done. Thanks in advance, I know, I know, I should not have waited to the last minute. Thanks

If I remember correctly, these are bare root saplings. If so, you can store them for a few days. Make sure you keep the roots moist and out of the sun. Find a shady area to keep them.
