Any Comments on Home Depot's Compost Bin

Anyone have any comments on the style of compost bins sold at Home Depot? Here's a link:

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...ctId=100617053

Hopefully the link works. They only have one style, but in 2 sizes. My concern is that there doesn't seem to be an easy way to mix your compost.

Thanks,
Sam

Hi Sam,

This one isn't as large, but much easier to mix the contents at about the same price.

Thanks Newt. The one you directed me to is actually the same one I was researching last night (looking for the best price). I'm not too sure if I want the UCT7 or UCT9. Do you recommend using a Starter Chemical?

Sam, you are so very welcome! If you have any compost or rich soil, just add a shovel full of that. The idea is to add some good microbes that will start the decomposition process. No need to purchase anything special. You could even purchase a bag of compost and use a shovel full of that.

Inexpensive Compost Tumbler for about $10

I built my own Compost Tumbler for about $10. You can check it out at DIY Compost Tumbler where I documented how I did it. Essentially, it's just a 55 gallon drum on a spindled. Not pretty, but it works!
