Unhappy Is it safe?

Hi!
My cucumber plants have now passed away into the hereafter due to the dreaded bacterial wilt caused by the equally dreaded cucumber beetle. Although the plant is dead, there are several cuks still on the vine that look ok.

Does anyone know if it's save to eat these? They look fine, but if the plant died because of the bacteria, it seems like the fruit is equally plagued.

I'm likely to err on the side of safety and just compost them, but I figured I'd check here first to see if anyone knows for sure.

Thanks!!

I'm not dead yet! I have eaten every sort of vegetable from living, dying and dead vines. I've eaten vegies with horrible looking; scars, bumps and carbuncles.

You are human and extremely genetically different than a cucumber. The diseases that affect a cucumber and most vegetables simply do not work on humans.

When in doubt, properly cook your cucumbers. A proper cooking kills amost all the the bad thing.
