Koosa dogwood bark peeling away

Can anyone tell me if it is normal for the bark on my koosa dogwood to be peeling away? I never really noticed this before. Where the bark is peeled the underneath is white.
Should I be concerned?

Thanks.

Peeling bark on kousa is one of its characteristics that makes it so popular. Peeling bark adds visual interest.

Thanks 12, the branches are really drooping also, could it be from the weight of the berries? I don't remember it drooping so much in the past.

If tree appears to be otherwise healthy and no signs of pests or disease, droop may be a symptom that the tree is thirsty. Kousa needs water when there has been no rain. Heavy fruit can cause droop.
