rooting a tree root sprout

I have been looking for a small Gum tree seedling. The one that does not have gum balls. The only thing that I have found is a few Gum trees that have sprouts coming only from surfaced roots. Is it possible to root these. Tom

Tom, you should be able to dig some root sprouts from a seedless variety. Pot them up and give them at least a season in a pot. You can sink the pot into the ground for the winter.
