Lead paint chips in my garden soil

Anyone ever have their soil tested for lead?

My wife and I put in our first garden, and due to the sun, or lack thereof, in our yard, it lies right up against the house. Before the vinyl siding we currently have, we had lead-paint clapboards.

After planting the garden(tomatoes, peppers, lettuce and cukes), we realized that there were some very small paint chips in the soil. My wife is now FREAKED about eating veggies from the garden and wants the soil tested and/or the garden replanted with a raised bed.

Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance.

You might want to read up on the topic of lead in the soil. For peace of mind, it may be best to raise the bed over some landscape fabric.
