Question

I have several outdoor pots of various sizes that I have kept flowering plants in all summer long. I would like to keep some color in them during the winter. Any ideas? I am in zone 9 and would like something that will flower throughout the fall and winter. I'm not afraid to re-plant from time to time if necessary.

Absolutely! Rather than list plants for you that may not be available to you in your location just pop on over to your locally owned nursery and see what they have available. There should be a selection there for you for winter planting.

Just ask someone there for suggestions if their display still leaves you with any questions as to which to use.

Just saw a display of the winter pansies. So colorful and cheery and the pastels are absolutely gorgeous. One set of containers contained the pansies and green plants for filler just like a florist arrangement. Lovely. If you do use the pansies just keep them dead-headed and they will bloom all winter.
