I have some great moss growing on the roof of our toolshed and would like to use it for topiaries. What do I need to do to make sure its de-bugged for indoor use?

I submerged mine in a bucket of warm water for about 30 minutes.

Check to see if this produces any evidence of "living creatures" either staying with or in the moss or if something floats to the surface trying to escape.

Actually I found nothing in mine but I realize there could have been.

Another approach would be to let it go on the dry side. Anything living in there would be the type of critter that preferred the same moist site as moss so that would probably also cause them to seek shelter somewhere else.
