Trimming Roses.

Okay, I'll admit I'm lazy, but I was sick for much of the fall.

Here's the deal. I didn't trim my roses before the winter frost. Now it's trying to be spring, and there's a lot of new growth on my roses on branches I would've, should've, could've trimmed back, but didn't.

Do I ignore the new growth and just trim back the way I normally would've for winter? Or do I just accept the new growth and trim minimumlly?

Thanks.

It all depends on the type of roses. Here's a link to a University of Illinois website that shoulod help you.
