Weeping Cherry Tree

Can you cut a sprig from an existing tree and plant and if so, how.

Not sure if this will work for a weeping cherry, but it does for other cuttings.

Take a cutting, cutting on a slight diagonal. Dip the cutting in rooting hormone and pot it in good potting soil.

You could google transplanting cuttings for complete instructions.

A weeping cherry is grafted on what they call a top graft standard in other words it is grafted atop a non weeping prunus trunk that is why the suckers that come up from the base are not weepers but the actual tree trunk wanting to grow.
