red tip photinia disease???
I live in Virginia and need a shrub for a screen, I like the red tip photinia but after talking to some people and researching it seems like they get disease very easily. But I have read others that said they have had for 20 years with no problems.
I would just like to get some thoughts from here if I should go with the red tip photinia or should I go with something else. If I do go with something else hoping someone could recommend something I could use in Virginia.
Thanks

I would avoid the red tip at all costs. Once they get the disease they are doomed. Take a look at chinese photinia or eleagnus for your screen. The chinese is not succeptable to the disease that kills the red tip.
