Hello -
I have a Christmas Cactus that I've somehow kept alive for over a year now.
It's beginning to look as if it's too big for the original plastic pot it came in. I would like to transfer it to a little larger pot but I don't want to kill it. I'm not very plant-savvy...could someone please tell me what soil I need to purchase to repot the cactus? Is there anything else I need to be aware of when repotting?
Thank you for all helpful responses.

My mom would take it out of the plastic pot, throw it on the ground and point at it. The plant would grow.
Just kidding, but she had a way with plants. If you transplant it, make it a substantially larger pot, use a good potting soil about half way up the pot. Dig a hole in the middle and scoop it all to the sides. Set your plant, intact, in the hole and finish filling it with loose potting soil. Keep it well watered for a few days. My wife lets them self drain into saucers after they get going.
