russian sage

when is the best time to trim Russian sage..i believe I was told to trim when they start to blossom in the spring....they have not started as of yet but it is getting warmer.....when I do trim them how short do I trim?...thanks

If this is an established plant, you could trim it back 50%. Early spring in usually the time prune plants such as this.
