Has Dormant Oil been more or less replaced?

I purchased a home with a couple of younger fruit trees.
When Spring came last year and they started to bud out they did not look good and nearly died on me.
I was told that I should have used some dormant oil spray on them.
So this year, before they bud out, I went to the typical hardware stores looking for dormant oil and I don't see any.
Has it been replaced with some other product that I am not aware of?
