Need a climbing plant for privacy
#1
We have a deck that is adjacent to a neighbor’s back porch. Along the adjacent side, for privacy, we would like to install latticework but are lost as to the type of climbing flower to plant.
That area of the yard gets majority direct sun and the lattice starts about 4 feet from the ground and is 8 feet wide. We are looking for something that flowers, preferably green most of the year, that grows hearty in Zones 7-8, and is not going to creep to some nearby azaleas.
Our initial thought was some climbing roses or a maybe a climbing camellia. Then we started wondering about growth time. These plants would have to grow 4 feet high before they touched the latticework and then more to provide privacy. How long would that take? Do anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Blue Wisteria would climb quickly and does well in direct sunand in your zone, but has a tendency to wander (probably into those azaleas you mentioned). Clematis is good for your zones and sun butgrows slower than wisteria. I THINK it is easier to keep under control but not positive. Then there's the climbing roses, a bleeding heart vine (I think this likesshade though) and some others that I can't remember of at the moment.
