Cool

i wanted to know about pruning clematis plants ? I purchased a home from a person who loved to garden and she planted all different types of plants. There is a clematis plant very large and had many blooms last year and I wanted to know if I should prune back all the old stems from last year or do you leave them in that state ?
Does the plant have more blooms when you don't prune ? or when you do ? Any info would help about clematis
thank you

Mandca,
It may be too late to prune, mine is already nearly full green. (Snowed last week - nearly 90 today). But here is a website which explains the various groups and pruning:
http://www.howells98.freeserve.co.uk/Pages/Pruning.html
I learned something from reading it myself.
