For the last two summers, the hollyhocks have had lacey, holey leaves. The flowers are still great. Live in Minnesota. Thanks.

insects on hollyhocks

You need to spray with Diazonon or Ortho Bug B Gone. Some folks like to sprinkle with Sevin dust. Hollyhocks tend to attract insects.

They could also be slugs.

Hollyhocks are also prone to rust. If they get it, spray with Liquid Copper or something similar right away.
