Easter Lilies
Easter Lilies are grown in greenhouse conditions and sold in full bloom. Their blossoms last longer if they are placed in indirect sun in cool conditions. Direct sun may scorch the blossoms. If wrapped in foil, make sure the foil is not collecting water and the plant is not standing in water. Blossoms last longer if the anthers (yellow pollen bearing structures) are removed from center of flowers. It is almost impossible to force them again indoors. An alternative is to plant them outdoors in the spring in a protected area from heat and wind, but where they get bright light. With luck they will bloom again in the fall. They will not survive the winter outdoors.
