I am wondering what types of plants and flowers to start out with in my garden right now, I would like to know which ones would be the best for this time of the year.
Also, I have three rose bushes, and was wondering if there are other plants or flowers that would grow good in the same bed as the roses? any help and advice would certainly be helpful. thanks

Beginning gardening

Stop by the library and pick up some gardening books. There are also many useful websites. Picking plants that fit the individual site and soil conditions of your lawn is the most important decision you have to make. Second, you might want to keep in mind the color scheme. Third, how demanding the individual plants will be of your time. Fourth, the individual characteristics of the plants, their needs, and habits. Educate yourself before you begin and you will save yourself time, hard work, and money.
