I have sage and rosemary in pots that overwintered in my house. They appear to have mildew. Is there any way to remove the mildew without killing the plants or the family?

Mildew on indoor herbs

Mildew tends to attack plants that have wet feet and poor sunlight and air circulation. You will probably find that when you move the plants outdoors that the mildew will go away. I have read that spritzing plant leaves with water with a pinch of baking soda added will help as this will change the pH level on the leaves and deter the mildew. There are, of course, fungicides, but I don't think I would want to spray them on herbs that I plan to eat.
