Garden grubs
My vegetable garden seems to have been invaded by grubs. I'm getting 3-4 grubs per forkful as I turn the soil to get ready for planting. I've had this garden for almost 30 years and never had a problem like this.
I would prefer to get rid of the grubs before they turn into veggie eating insects but I'm not sure what the best short term treatment is. I'm leery about insecticide claims from various makers. I'm not married to a chemical free garden but would prefer something enviro friendly.
Any recommendations for something that works. I use Grub-ex on my lawn and it works great but I don't want to use it in a garden.

Chemical insecticide could provide control more quickly. If you go for a non-chemical approach you may not see results until later in this season or next year.

A thought just came to me: How about electrocuting them? Wire mesh on wet garden soil...hooked up to batteries or generator or.....? Or visit the IMRA and adopt a few moles.
